Sepracor Suits Over Planned Generic Xyzal Pile Up

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A lawsuit accusing Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. of infringement for its planned generic version of allergy drug Xyzal has become the fourth suit filed by drugmakers Sepracor Inc. and UCB SA over the drug.

The suit, filed Wednesday in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina, alleges that Barr infringed a key patent for Xyzal and also names Barr's Croatia-based subsidiary as a defendant.
