Microsoft, Primax Go Before ITC Over Plug-And-Play

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. has brought a complaint before the U.S. International Trade Commission against Taiwanese rival Primax Electronics Ltd. for allegedly infringing patents related to peripheral devices for computers.

In a complaint filed Monday, Microsoft asked the ITC to ban Primax from importing products that it says infringe seven patents related to Microsoft's U2 and tilt wheel technologies.

U2, or “plug-and-play,” technology allows peripheral computer devices like keyboards and mice to be used with either a universal serial bus or PS2 interface.
