Anadarko, Kerr-McGee Sued Over Seismic Data

Law360, New York (July 31, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A seismic data licensing company has filed suit against oil and gas exploration company Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and its subsidiary Kerr-McGee Corp., claiming a merger between the two companies resulted in trade secret misappropriation.

In a complaint filed Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, licensing company M.D. Mark Inc. claimed seismic data used for oil and gas exploration, which it had licensed to Anadarko and Kerr-McGee, had been shared between the two companies after Anadarko acquired Kerr-McGee in 2006, in violation...
