Murphy Oil Hit With Wage-And-Hour Suit

Law360, New York (August 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former trainee filed a putative class action suit against Murphy Oil USA Inc. on Wednesday, accusing the company's retail subsidiary of violating the Fair Labor Standards Act in failing to pay its gas station employees regular and overtime wages.

The complaint, lodged in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, alleges Murphy refused to pay plaintiff Donna Charles and other trainees wages for 17 hours of work during a one-day training program.
