AMS Sues Laser Peripherals Over Prostate Treatment

Law360, New York (August 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- American Medical Systems Inc. has sued Laser Peripherals LLC for allegedly infringing a patent related to the laser treatment of an enlarged prostate.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, AMS and its subsidiary Laserscope accused Laser Peripherals of infringing U.S. Patent Number 5,428,699, titled “Probe Having Optical Fiber For Laterally Directing Laser Beam.”
