SEC To Make Financial Reporting Improvements

Law360 (August 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, intent on bringing increased clarity and transparency to financial reporting, received a key report from an advisory committee Friday and is looking to implement its recommendations, the agency announced.

SEC Chairman Christopher Cox received a report drawn up by the Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting and is ready to act with other watchdog agencies on the committee’s recommendations aimed at making “financial information more useful and understandable to investors,” the SEC said.
