Law360, New York (May 4, 2015, 5:17 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania federal jury awarded Drone Technologies Inc. $7.8 million on Friday in a case accusing Parrot SA of developing unmanned aircraft that infringed on two of its drone technology patents, less than one-third of the amount the company had sought.
The eight-person jury awarded nearly $3.8 million in past damages and about $4 million for future damages for the infringement of U.S. Patent Numbers 7,584,071 and 8,106,748. Drone Technologies had asked for $7.5 million in past damages and $17.3 million for future damages — a total of more than three times the amount the jury ultimately doled out.
