Eyeing Inflation, KFTC Plans Price-Fixing Crackdown

Law360, New York (August 6, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The government of South Korea announced plans on Wednesday to crack down on price-fixing in an effort to curb inflation, according to Korean news reports.

The country's Ministry of Strategy and Finance and Fair Trade Commission will more aggressively follow up price-related consumer complaints by investigating companies for participating in cartels when consumer groups receive reports of unreasonable changes in prices, the Korea Herald reported.
