EU To Scrutinize DSP, Arsenal Merger Further

Law360 (August 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission has launched an investigation into a proposed acquisition of Dutch chemical maker DSP by U.S. equity company Arsenal, concerned over the impact a union could have on competition in the benzoic acid and benzoate industry.

On Thursday, the EC revealed the inquiry, with antitrust regulators opting to take a deeper look into the situation after concerns arose during their first examination of the deal.
