Suit Questions Goldman's Objectivity In Wrigley Deal

Law360, New York (August 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Yet another W.M. Wrigley Jr. Co. shareholder has launched an attempt to block the company's $23 billion merger with Mars Inc., filing a suit accusing investment bank Goldman Sachs & Co. Inc. of working for both companies involved in the deal.

The suit, filed on Wednesday by shareholder Ron Young in state court in Chicago, alleges that Goldman agreed to advise Wrigley on the deal while still employed by Mars, a situation that Young's complaint claims is a conflict of interest.
