Nonplussed By Objections, Judge Approves OCA's Plan

Law360, New York (May 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Over the objections of affiliated dentists, a federal judge has issued an order approving bankrupt orthodontic services company OCA Inc.’s proposed reorganization plan, thereby removing a potential obstacle to the company’s emergence from Chapter 11.

A judge heard oral arguments on the motion for judicial authorization of the proposed restructuring plan on Wednesday.

Two groups of dentists filed objections to OCA Inc.’s proposed plan, in an attempt to stymie the restructuring model that was agreed to last week by OCA’s unsecured creditors and senior lenders....
