R.I. Fights Bid For Costs In Lead Paint Case

Law360 (August 8, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Rhode Island Attorney General Patrick C. Lynch excoriated Sherwin-Williams Co. and three other companies after filing opposition papers in response to their bid to have the state pick up the tab for costs associated with their defense in a case over lead paint contamination.

Thursday, Rhode Island filed papers in Rhode Island Superior Court arguing that the request for the costs associated with the long-running litigation is barred by sovereign immunity.
