Judge Urged To Stay Course In Westar Trial

Law360 (August 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors are encouraging the judge overseeing the criminal case against two former Westar Energy executives to declare the defendants' notice of appeal frivolous in order for the trial to proceed on schedule.

On Friday, government officials urged U.S. District Judge Julie Robinson to start the retrial against David Wittig and Douglas Lake on Sept. 9, as scheduled.
