Environmental Groups Sue To Stop W.Va. Coal Mine

Law360, New York (August 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A coalition of environmental groups is asking a federal judge in West Virginia to stop development of a coal mine that was approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers earlier this month.

In a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virgina, the groups allege that the Corps issued a permit to Hobet Mining LLC without accounting for environmental damage that the mining activities would cause.
