Impax Labs Hit With Patent Suit Over Ultram ANDA

Law360 (August 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biovail Laboratories International SRL and its U.S. partner, Ortho-McNeil Inc., have sued California-based Impax Laboratories Inc. over the company's application to make generic Ultram ER, a treatment for chronic pain.

Biovail, which manufactures Ultram, and Ortho-McNeil, which markets the drug in the U.S., filed suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware over Impax's abbreviated new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
