Microsoft Acquisition Datallegro Faces Patent Suit

Law360, New York (August 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The inventor of a database architecture patent has filed an infringement lawsuit against data-warehousing company Datallegro Inc., which was acquired by Microsoft Corp. last month.

Cary Jardin, founder and CEO of XPrime Inc., filed the suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The suit claims that Stuart Frost, founder and CEO of Datallegro, got information about Jardin's patent while working at XPrime, and used it to create Datallegro's products.
