Judge Orders Disbursed Payments In Medtronic MDL

Law360, New York (August 13, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As medical device giant Medtronic gears up to pay $95.6 million to settle 2,500 product liability suits related to its defibrillators, a judge has ordered the disbursement of 40% of each qualified claimant's settlement proceeds.

On Tuesday, Judge James M. Rosenbaum of the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota approved a Magistrate Judge Arthur Boylan's July 31 special master report recommending the disbursement.
