BMW Recalls 200,000 Vehicles Over Air Bag Defect

Law360, New York (August 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- BMW of North America LLC has voluntarily recalled about 200,000 vehicles to fix a defect in the passenger-side air bags.

The company said Wednesday that the recall involves vehicles from the model years of 2004, 2005 and 2006, but that it wasn't aware of any accidents or injuries resulting from the problem with the air bag seat sensor mat.

The company said that the sensor mats can become damaged during the vehicle's use depending on the manner and frequency of the front passenger's entry and exit....
