Lead Counsel Appointed In Chiquita Derivative Case

Law360, New York (August 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has appointed the lead attorneys for the massive shareholder derivative suit filed against Chiquita Brands International over alleged payments made to terrorist groups, naming Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins and Cohen Placitella & Roth as co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs.

In an order handed down Wednesday, Judge Kenneth A. Marra named the the two firms co-lead counsel in the shareholder derivative actions filed against Chiquita, which have been consolidated with several alien tort complaints also filed against the company.
