Law360, New York (August 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. insisted Thursday that it had not violated federal election law after a complaint letter sent to the U.S. Federal Election Commission accused the company of crossing the line by telling workers that a strong showing for Democrats in November would have a negative effect on the workplace.
The letter was authored by labor federations AFL-CIO and Change to Win, advocacy group American Rights at Work and union-backed watchdog group WakeUpWalMart.com.
