Mass. Gov. Signs $1.64B Green Bond

Law360 (August 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has signed into law a $1.64 billion environmental and energy bond, doubling the commonwealth's last green bond to support programs including land conservation and renewable energy.

The 2008 Energy and Environment Bond Bill invests in environmental assets over five years, replacing a 2002 environmental bond that is nearly depleted.

Because the state's energy and environmental agencies merged in 2007, the bond Patrick signed Thursday invests in energy efficiency in state buildings as well as traditional environmental investments such as open-space conservation....
