UnitedHealth Accused Of Conspiracy Over Medicare

Law360 (May 18, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A pharmaceutical supplier has hit healthcare provider UnitedHealth Group Inc. with an antitrust lawsuit, accusing the company of depriving it of potential revenues by conspiring with another health insurance company in negotiations involving the Medicare program.

Since Omnicare’s contract with PacifiCare was less favorable than the UnitedHealth contract, Omnicare claims that it lost out on potential revenues.

The suit, filed by pharmaceutical supplier Omnicare Inc., alleges that UnitedHealth misrepresented its relationship with fellow healthcare firm PacifiCare, which it now owns.
