Boston Scientific Recalls Faulty Stents

Law360, New York (August 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Medical device manufacturer Boston Scientific Corp. has issued a recall for its NexStent product line because the tip of the stent delivery system may detach during surgical procedures.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the defective product recall on Thursday, although Boston Scientific said it had issued a voluntary device-recall letter to its customers on June 6.

The recall applies to Boston Scientific's NexStent Monorail, NexStent Carotid Stent and Monorail Delivery System, which together are used to treat blockages in patients with carotid artery disease,...
