Reed Smith Hits Back At Claims Of Overbilling

Law360 (August 15, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Reed Smith LLP has fired back at a religious nonprofit group that accused it of padding a $1 million defense bill, saying it handled the employment discrimination suit “within the degree of competence generally possessed by attorneys practicing in federal district court.”

In its answer to a complaint brought by the Bair Foundation Inc., a Catholic foster care agency, Reed Smith alleged that the employment suit in question was “significant, sensitive and emotional,” and that it was also highly “contentious, time consuming and complex.”
