Trade Group Won't Have To Pay Costco Fees: Court

Law360, New York (August 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An alcohol industry trade group that intervened in Costco Wholesale Corp.'s mostly unsuccessful antitrust lawsuit challenging Washington state’s pricing and distribution regulations for beer and wine is not liable for Costco's $1.7 million in attorneys' fees, an appeals court has ruled.

Washington Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association intervened on behalf of the Washington State Liquor Control Board in Cocstco's suit. The group intervened on the grounds that the suit raised issues relating to the contracts its members have with beer and wine producers and retailers....
