J.M. Smucker Sues Pierre Foods Over Crustless PB&J

Law360, New York (August 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Jam maker J.M. Smucker Co. has filed a lawsuit saying bankrupt Pierre Foods Inc.'s crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches infringe the trademark for J.M. Smucker's Uncrustables sandwiches.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, J.M. Smucker accused Pierre and subsidiary Clovervale Farms Inc. of selling a sandwich product that consumers would likely associate with J.M. Smucker's Uncrustables brand.
