Brothers Agree To $3M Restitution For Systemax Fraud

Law360, Miami (June 8, 2015, 7:54 PM EDT) -- Two former senior executives for consumer electronics retailer TigerDirect Inc. and its parent Systemax Inc. agreed Friday to pay $3 million in restitution for their roles in a multimillion-dollar kickback scheme with foreign suppliers and subsequent tax evasion.

Former TigerDirect President Carl Fiorentino and his brother, former Systemax Director Gilbert Fiorentino, agreed to $3.06 million in restitution based on legal fees and costs and additional pre-judgment interest, according to a notice filed with the court.

The brothers could not, however, reach a deal with the government regarding claw-back compensation and asked the court to hold an evidentiary hearing on the issue....
