Ohio Seeks Wider Probe Of UPS-DHL Deal

Law360 (August 20, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Officials in Ohio are looking to put more antitrust pressure on DHL Express over a plan to drop its air package handler, ABX Air Inc., in favor of United Parcel Service Inc.

DHL's plan, announced earlier this year, has already prompted scrutiny from several government agencies over its impact on competition in the shipping industry. Both presidential candidates have spoken out against it, the Senate Antitrust Committee is seeking a probe, and the state of Ohio has launched an investigation.
