Second Plea Bargain In Milberg Weiss Kickback Probe

Law360, New York (May 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors continue to build their case against plaintiffs firm Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman, aided by yet another plea bargain in the ongoing probe into allegations that the firm and its partners paid kickbacks to lead plaintiffs.

Attorney Richard Purtich, who allegedly participated in the payoff scheme, pled guilty to a single count of impeding the due administration of Internal Revenue Service laws and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors in their investigation.
