Dow Wins $5.9M In Atty Fees From Bayer In Soybean IP Fight

Law360, New York (June 18, 2015, 5:42 PM EDT) -- A Delaware federal judge on Thursday ordered Bayer CropScience AG to pay $5.9 million in attorneys’ fees to Dow AgroSciences LLC for filing a “frivolous” patent infringement suit.

While U.S. District Judge Renee Marie Bumb took off a few pennies here and a couple of grand there as she combed through Dow’s original $6.07 million demand and Bayer’s numerous objections over the number of attorneys assigned and the amount of hours billed, she largely left the request intact.
