U.S., Japan Launch Patent Prosecution Highway

Law360 (May 24, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The United States and Japan have teamed up to tackle the huge patent application backlog that exists in both countries, launching a cooperative effort called the Patent Prosecution Highway aimed at expediting the patent process.

The pilot program was developed to make it easier for patent applicants to obtain corresponding patents in the United States and Japan.
