ABA Weighs In On UK Merger Remedy Guidelines

Law360, New York (August 23, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The American Bar Association's antitrust and international law sections have largely praised the United Kingdom's competition watchdog for its recently drafted guidelines on the application of divestiture remedies in merger inquiries, but have suggested several revisions for additional guidance.

In joint comments issued Aug. 18, the two sections applauded the U.K. Competition Commission's consultation draft guidelines, published in May, saying they represented “a sophisticated statement of enforcement practices and policies.”
