Bankrupt Lumber Co. Files For Ch. 15

Law360, New York (August 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Cross-border lumber producer Pope & Talbot Inc. filed a petition Friday seeking to convert from Chapter 7 to Chapter 15 in order to facilitate current bankruptcy proceedings between U.S. and Canadian courts.

The company said in its petition that Chapter 15 would be the most “expedient and cost-effective” method of liquidating the remainder of the company and it affiliates’ U.S. assets.
