Exporters Challenge China To Clarify Antitrust Law

Law360, New York (August 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A coalition of Asian shippers says it is poised to take advantage of China's new antitrust law, should the group determine that shipping lines are collectively fixing prices in China in violation of the new statute.

China's new antitrust law should take precedence over the existing Marine Regulations, Asian Shippers' Council Chairman John Lu said in an interview with maritime industry newspaper Lloyd's List last week.
