Ky. Attorney General Issues Gas Subpoenas

Law360, New York (August 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As he considers taking legal action, the Kentucky attorney general has subpoenaed refiners and suppliers of the state's petroleum market in a review of gas prices in the Louisville area and asked regulators to review the Marathon Oil Co.-Ashland Inc. merger.

Attorney General Jack Conway said Friday that he was prompted to issue subpoenas and ask the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice and the Government Accountability Office to review the 1997 merger.
