Germany Probes Gas Cos. Over Region Merger Plan

Law360, New York (August 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Germany's network authority, the Bundesnetzagentur, has launched an investigation into possible market abuse by five natural gas grid operators in the country in connection with the authority's plan to combine gas distribution regions, the agency announced Monday.

The probe targets RWE Transportnetz Gas GmbH, E.ON Gastransport AG & Co. KG, EWE Netz GmbH, Erdgas Münster Transport GmbH & Co. KG and Gasunie Deutschland Transport Services GmbH.
