Judge Says Wyeth Premarin-Only Suits To Continue

Law360, New York (August 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has denied Wyeth Inc.'s request for summary judgment in five suits involving women who claim the company's estrogen hormone-replacement drug Premarin led to their breast cancer.

Judge William R. Wilson Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas held Friday that Wyeth had not demonstrated that there was no dispute over material facts in the suits but noted that "this case ultimately may be dismissed following Daubert motions," which would decide the reliability of the scientific evidence and experts...
