Plaintiffs Ask To Bundle Negligent Saw-Maker Suits

Law360, New York (August 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Plaintiffs in four lawsuits accusing power saw manufacturers and vendors — including Black & Decker Corp. and Home Depot USA Inc. — of putting out products with insufficient safety protections asked several Massachusetts federal judges to consolidate the cases along with four others for pretrial proceedings Tuesday.

The eight cases, filed in 2006 and 2007 in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, all allege the tool companies knew about and declined to use superior safety technology in their table saws. The other named...
