High Court Should Tackle Obviousness: Solicitor General

Law360 (May 26, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Foreshadowing what could be the biggest patent case in a generation, the White House’s top lawyer has encouraged the U.S. Supreme Court to review a case over patent “obviousness” – a ruling that would have far-reaching implications.

The U.S. Solicitor General, in a brief to the Court, said the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit’s decision in KSR International Co. v. Teleflex Inc. should be examined because it presents an important question of law.
