EPA Orders Fine, 'Green' Curriculum For Mass. Spill

Law360, New York (August 28, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Digital printing supply company Presstek Inc. has agreed to pay a $31,975 fine and also to create a “Green Chemistry” curriculum for Massachusetts schools, as part of a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency over a 2006 chemical spill in South Hadley, Mass.

The EPA and Presstek agreed to the science curriculum, valued at $70,000, through the regulator's Supplemental Environmental Projects program, which mitigates the fines of environmental violators.

New Hampshire-based Presstek will pilot its environmental curriculum at Quincy Public High School during the 2008-2009...
