WHO To Probe Global Drug Patent System

Law360, New York (May 30, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Amid growing criticism that poor nations are being denied access to crucial medicines, vaccines and diagnostic tests, the World Health Organization said it plans to review whether the international drug patent system curbs the ability of developing countries to obtain patented medical treatments.
