P&G Confirms Several European Antitrust Inquiries

Law360, New York (August 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Procter & Gamble Co. revealed Thursday that a number of European antitrust authorities, including the European Commission, have begun investigating several of the consumer product manufacturer's subsidiaries in multiple countries for possible competition law violations.

In June the EC — with the cooperation of national agencies — opened an inquiry into P&G in several European nations, the company said in its most recent quarterly report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
