Okla. Appeals Injunction Of Illegal Worker Law

Law360, New York (August 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The state of Oklahoma has challenged a federal judge's order blocking employment provisions of a sweeping state law regarding illegal immigration.

On Monday, Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson's office appealed in the U.S. Court of Appeal for the 10th Circuit a federal court's injunction against worker-related sections of the Oklahoma Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act of 2007.

In June, Judge Robin J. Cauthron of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Oklahoma ruled that federal law preempted the employment sections of the state legislation,...
