Pfizer Prevails In Danish Lipitor Case

Law360, New York (August 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- One of the lawsuits over Pfizer Inc.'s Lipitor that was not subject to a major settlement earlier this year has gone Pfizer's way, with a Danish court blocking Ranbaxy Laboratories from launching a generic version of Lipitor until 2011.

Ranbaxy had challenged two key patents for the blockbuster cholesterol drug, but the High Court in Copenhagen ruled that Pfizer's patents were valid and would be infringed by Ranbaxy's planned generic version, Pfizer said in a statement Friday.
