DOL Seeks Comment On Workplace Toxin Rule

Law360, New York (August 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has formally proposed a new rule that would change the way it assesses the risk of toxic chemical exposure in the workplace, a month after it was criticized for trying to pass the rule in secret.

In a notice of proposed rulemaking published in the Federal Register on Friday, the DOL proposed a standardized procedure and set of criteria for evaluating the risks posed by chemicals in the workplace.
