Microsoft Awarded $8.6M In Patent Dispute

Law360, New York (May 31, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. might not need any help paying its legal bills, but it will get it anyway: a federal judge in Arizona has ordered Research Corporation Technologies to pay more than $8.6 million in legal fees that the software giant incurred after R.C.T. filed a patent lawsuit against Microsoft in 2001.
