Reed Smith Acquires IP Boutique

Law360, New York (December 30, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- International law firm Reed Smith has acquired Shanks & Herbert, a seven-year-old intellectual property firm that specializes in chemical, pharmaceutical and software intellectual property issues.

On Jan. 2, eight Shanks & Herbert lawyers and seven staff members will join Reed Smith's 86-attorney Washington, D.C., office. The Shanks & Herbert firm will dissolve.

In addition to partners Mark R. Shanks and Toni-Junell Herbert, the staff includes one counsel, Patricia Ann Johnson, five associates, two paralegals and several support staff. The associates are Chris E. Aniedobe, Joanna M....
