EPA Must Look Into Ky. Water Standards: 6th Circ.

Law360, New York (September 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has ordered the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to re-examine water quality standards for Kentucky, which exempted six types of pollution from state review.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit reversed a lower court's summary judgment in favor of the EPA. The appellate court instead ruled in favor of the environmental groups that were protesting the six Clean Water Act exemptions.
