Law360 (September 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In another victory for Adidas AG over its three-stripe trademark, Wal-Mart Stores Inc. has agreed to settle a 3-year-old lawsuit with the sportswear maker.
Both companies issued statements on Monday announcing the settlement, the terms of which were not disclosed. The companies also filed a joint motion to dismiss the case with prejudice on Friday. A trial had been scheduled to begin next month in U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon.
“In the interest of avoiding further litigation, the parties have reached an amicable resolution to their dispute,” Wal-Mart's statement said. The retail giant has settled two other lawsuits...
