PrivaSys, AmEx Settle Card Chip Patent Spat

Law360, New York (September 4, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- PrivaSys Inc. has reached a final settlement with American Express Co. in a suit that accused the credit card giant of infringing a patent for technology that cuts down on payment card fraud.

The companies filed a joint settlement notice and stipulation to vacate all future litigation dates on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, a month after asking the court to stay all pending litigation dates by four weeks because they expected to reach a settlement within that time...
